I have always been told that the short track versions on the IndyCar front wings don't offer the option of placing the very large wings further forward, but when I see teams with complete nose/wing units set aside in their pits, and then change them in testing, I have my doubts. These units weren't there for a quick change if contact was made, as would be the case in a race. This is what the typical Panoz short track package looks like.

Now for the Dallara

Now for a look at the wings and what made me wonder, and this wasn't even from a Dallara, the other one I saw in waiting was from a TCGR car

To minimize distortion due to camera angle, I tried to center the mounting point seam in the center of all shots (note that the pictures have been cropped, so line might not appear to be centered), this is what I found.
