I will be adding several new pictures today, and the final batch on Monday. I'll post them in a latest first format rather than adding new pages. In doing it that way, just before the IndyCar test at PIR on the 24th, we can close out the entire page. So if there are pictures that you wish to keep, download them before then.

This is the Bondio car with the outlawed Ski Boot, seen at the Chili Bowl this week, there is a cardboard cutout of Kasey Kahne in the car. In Dec. this picture began to appear on the internet and it wasn't long before "The Boot" got the boot. The story of that can be found way down the page here, but even more interesting is tonight's (Saturday Feature Lineups and the results from Friday night.)
Here are two pictures of JJ Yeley in the Bondio #47 in Thursday night Chili Bowl action. While they managed to "lose" the boot, it's been replaced with a light weight, skinny left front tire.

Here are a couple of pictures of the #47 front end after it was "adjusted" Friday night, in the picture below, JJ Yeley is seen talking to Tony Stewart after flipping the car.
Jay Drake being interviewed in the Winner's Circle Friday night.

aXe said it got "hot and heavy" at the Chili Bowl last night..

Dennis and I share a love for the VW powered Midget, and this is the only one at the Chili Bowl this year. I happen to feel the $30,000 plus Midget engine is overkill, running up the price of what I feel is some of the most exciting and "honest" racing in America, Midgets on dirt. I can't think of any form of racing where who drives the car and how it is driven can make so much of a difference. The VW's cost 30% of what engines go for today, and that era probably had racing that was every bit as exciting, and even more grass roots entries. This from Dennis:

Well here is the only Volkswagen entry I found here. Finding this is a plus for me, because the owner also owns one of the Benson cars we built back about 1968 or 69. What a find for me. The owner/driver Bill Eslick, runs tonight, so we will see if that bug can still cut it?" Den

Note: Dennis has yet to report on how the car did last night, perhaps this will serve as a reminder to him. I'm sure he's like a kid in a candy store in Tulsa, he may go on for days, but we'll eventually get the whole story. MN

Tony Stewart is shown with his crew working on the car on Wednesday. Stewart would suffer a "wild flip in Hot Laps, and didn't race last night.

One of six Miller Racing entries. Originally aXe thought The Dude was in one of the Miller Car's, but he has since sent me an E-mail stating Danny is driving his own Midget. Here's the link to the "results" page. According to aXe, the track was dry and dusty last night, finishing 2nd was Steve Kinser and Jerry Coons finished 3rd. Having been at the Chili Bowl in the past, they'll get a handle on the track conditions and get a better feel for how much watering the surface requires.

The top picture above shows Lasoski in Victory Circle. The one below shows Danny's car as a blur in the upper left hand corner as he checks out on the field Wednesday evening on a dry and dusty track.

Here's one of the many and varied engine combinations usually seen at the Chili Bowl, this is Dave and Bruce Thurston's V-4.

Chad Boat in the #30 car.

Aaron Fike's Ford.

aXe is calling this "Tony Stewart's Bar and Lounge," the rig is inside the Chili Bowl building, a facility so big that this is one of the many rigs in the building, plus pit stalls that can accommodate over 200 cars and still have room left for the 1/5th-mile track!

"It's a family affair," this 2006 Chili Bowl, the top photo shows, the lower one is of Ann Swindell and her son Kevin.

Jason Leffler's ride

Another way to cut a Chevy V8 in half, this one resulting in another V-4.

Here's one of the Kunz Mopar engines.

"Tim's Sim's," two 8-lap races for $5 bucks, looks like fun to me.

I don't know how aXe feels, but I liked them better when they looked like this. MN

aXe was very impressed with this kid Wednesday night, his name is Brady Bacon, and aXe described him, the 5th place finisher in the "main" as "#a very young skinny kid in the #99," and suggested "I look up his name." Today aXe must have found him.

I'd like to thank aXe for the great pictures and effort, watch for more tomorrow afternoon.
