Rain has now shut down the speedway for the day, Scott Dixon posted the fastest speed of the day, a lap of 226.968-mph...

(5-9-08, 3:20, EDT) Caution for rain... Light so far, cars are being covered up and taken to the garages, but they haven't "lost" the race track yet. Here is what may be the final T&S chart of the day. If that is the case, those that will actually contend for a Pole Day top-11 spot have run the speeds needed to get the job done. I will be pleasantly surprised tomorrow if any of the former CCWS teams can crack the starting lineup Saturday anyway. They have lost the race track now to the extent that with less than 3 hours remaining in practice, it is unlikely they could dry the track in time to run 30-45 minutes of practice. I expect the next "event" we will see today is the "Q" line position draw, 15 minutes after they shut down the track for the day.
