Will Power, started 4th, finished 3rd

Regular IndyCar drivers Ryan Briscoe and Buddy
Rice also ran at The mile that year, Briscoe ran for Report and
didn’t do much better than he has in an IndyCar, starting 5th
and finishing 14th. Rice ran for Forsythe Pettit racing
and started 14th, and finished 10th

Also Note that
Bruno Junqueira has 4 Indy 500 starts, twice running for Target
Chip Ganassi Racing in 2001/2002 and he also had two starts for
Carl Haas in 2004/2005. Bruno won the Indy 500 pole in 2002.
Junqueira was badly injured at Indy in
2005 in a
crash not of his own making.
2001, started
20th, finished 5th, teamed with Juan Pablo Montoya, the
race winner,
2002, started 1st, finished 31st,
out with gearbox troubles.
2004, started 4th,
finished 5th. He was off -cycle on pit stops, and at
times looked like a possible winner.
2005,
started 12th, finished in the hospital in very serious
condition, taken out in the turn1-2 short chute while lapping AJ
Foyt IV.
Oriol Servia attempted to make
the 2002 Indy 500 with Derrick Daly, the combo struggled for
speed, and then Bump Day was an afternoon washout. |
